Welcome to the Zonta Club of Hanalei Website
The Zonta Club of Hanalei was chartered on April 1, 2007. Robin Savage, a long-term, dedicated business woman in Hanalei, rallied fellow professional business women along Kauai's north shore to gather together in support of Zonta International. With an ongoing goal of advancing the status of women worldwide, the Zonta Club of Hanalei became the 2nd Zonta Club on the island of Kauai. The members meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month to discuss their efforts in planning fundraising funds to assist young women with scholarships and more.
Zonta International is a global organization of nearly 33,000 members working together worldwide. In addition to the Zonta Club of Hanalei, there are more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. Known as “Zontians,” members have committed hundreds of thousands of service hours and millions of dollars to a wide range of women-focused community service projects. Artwork supplied by the Women Artists of Kaua'i group and selected by Zonta members. Front cover and two other paintings selected by acclaimed Kaua'i artist and Zonta Club of Hanalei member Patrice Pendarvis. Use the 2013 calendar then after the year is over frame the images!!

Scholarship Awards
On Saturday June 16th, 2012, The Zonta Club of Hanalei's Scholarship Committee awarded $10,000 to 16 women
Recipients and their guests gathered for an elaborate ceremony followed by a beautiful luncheon at the scenic home of Patricia Graves on Kalihiwai Ridge. About 75 people attended.
In the 4 years since the Zonta Club of Hanalei's Scholarship Committee was formed it has awarded over $30,000 dollars to Kauai women. Applications for 2013 will be available on the club's web-site at the end of January. There are two Zonta Club's on the island and the Zonta Club of Kauai offers scholarships to area women also.

Robyn Savage-Thompson and Jane Abramo present a check in the amount of $6000 to Laverne Bishop of Hale O'pio. Cal and Jeanette Stanny donated $3000 in matching funds to allow the Zonta Club of Hanalei to make this generous donation. |
